Maybe this is not a book widely known in Soil Science outside Spain, nor written by an author with many publications in high impact journals. However, this book has been written by and for Geographers.
This is perhaps not a significative fact in other countries, but Geography is not recognized popularly as an environmental science in Spain, despite the huge research carried out by Spanish geographers since the 20th century. In part, this the fault of Spanish geographers, who have not adapted to new circumstances, with some exceptions.
Therefore, this is not only book about Soil Science; this is a book that defends the role of geographers in Soil Science.
